PASTORS FOR PEACE CARAVAN STOPPED AT MEXICAN BORDER
PASTORS FOR PEACE CARAVAN STOPPED AT MEXICAN BORDER - COMPUTERS FOR CUBA TO BE CONFISCATED - AGAIN!
GERRY BILL, DIRECTOR, FRESNO CENTER FOR NONVIOLENCE, WITH CARAVAN.
FOR INFO CALL ANGELA PRICE 435-6383.
Dear Friends of the Center [Fresno Center For Nonviolence]:
This is an urgent email. Gerry Bill (who is our Center Director and is part of the Caravan to Cuba) has just called me to say that everyone has been stopped at the border crossing into Mexico and the reason is that the U.S. officials want to confiscate the computers that are on the buses and bound for Cuba. There are numerous computers and it would be a great loss to people in need in that country, many of them to be used in schools.
Will you please do three things? Contact your congressperson for your area and tell him/her, contact the Fresno Bee news desk and lastly send this email to any list-serv you have and friends and relatives. It would be much appreciated. It is only when there is publicity and pressure put on Congress that the matter gets resolved.
Thanks
Angela
