Dynamite Kablammo (sketch comedy)

Topic Tags

I LOVED this sketch comedy show! It’s probably the most polished, seamless sketch show I’ve ever seen, and every sketch is funny (some of us were talking afterwards about which sketch we’d cut, and it was tough, because they were all funny on some level. So why would we talk about this? I think we were just tired!). That said, when I told a friend about it, he said maybe he’d take his mom – I told him I didn’t recommend it. No offense to moms, but it’s not the kind of show I’d want to see while sitting next to my mother…

Dynamite Kablammo is fast-paced without becoming chaotic, and the four performers are all talented actors (great pacing and facial expressions) and singers (the show makes great use of music). It was completely shocking (spitbaby! You’ll see…) and funny, and it’s very hard to pick a favorite sketch. This is a must-see, fun show!

Check out the remaining performances at Dianna’s South on Sun, 3/2 at 7:00, Thurs 3/6 at 10:00, Fri 3/7 at 8:30, and Sat 3/8 at 4:00.

Dynamite Kablammo

If you're looking for a show to make you laugh, and well...laugh then Dynamite Kablammo is about as safe a bet as you will ever come across. There's singing, dancing, the ubiquitous hormone therapy sketch (ok, so a hormone therapy sketch really isn't ubiquitous, but it should be), as well as flash sketches (those short 30sec type sketches), and of course the "spitbaby" sketch. If you haven't heard about this one yet--you will. Spitbaby will be that part of the Rogue that people will be talking about for sometime. Sort of the, "Oh, yeah, I tried not to, but I couldn't help but watch. I knew it was coming, but I couldn't turn away."

Here's the thing though, spitbaby will be the thing you remember, but it's almost unfortunate, because it kind of overwhelms the fact that this show is tightly put together, quick paced, witty, and wonderfully performed. You especially see this in the musical sketches (The rapid fire sequences espousing the eternalness of hate, and the melodic regrets told in the "Monkey Revolution").

For pure comedy Dynamite Kablammo needs to be at the top of your list.
